The Friendship Circle of Greater Fort Lauderdale
Over 80% of individuals with special needs are unable to find a job due to lack of skills, training, and public perception. At the Friendship Circle of Greater Fort Lauderdale, we are changing that paradigm. Our Life Skills/Job Training program was created with the goal of providing our adults with special needs an immersive, real-world environment where they can practice critical life and job skills. The program includes hands-on training in the Friendship Grill, interpersonal and communication skills, academics such as basic math and reading, personal hygiene and grooming, relaxation techniques, a mentorship program, the arts and more. We create a safe and nurturing environment with the specific goal of encouraging and converting unique abilities into meaningful job skills, fostering friendships and a sense of belonging. Our Friendship employees develop a sense of pride that comes from contributing to their own support. In addition to our Life Skills program, we offer a variety of social programs for teens and adults with special needs.
The Friendship Circle of Greater Fort Lauderdale is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Your generous donation will be used to expand our program offerings, hire additional professional staff, and make our amazing programs available to more individuals with special needs in our South Florida community regardless of color, race, religion, gender or financial status.
